Origin of Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day is celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of May in most countries including USA, Italy, Singapore & also India. The origin of Mother’s Day dates back to 1907. On May 12th, 1907 a woman named Anna Jarvis, a peace activist held a memorial service for her mother. This act gained momentum to declare a day to honour all mothers of the world. Eventually after her efforts, the second Sunday of May was declared as Mother’s Day in USA from 1914 onwards. A lot more countries also selected the same date.
